William Pye in Film, 12th February to 4th May 2018
An exhibition at the Royal Society of Sculptors in London brings together, for the first time, a selection of William Pye’s films as well as collaborations with fellow film makers Ian Helliwell and Sasha Snow. These will be shown on 3 large screens, 5 small screens and wall projection. Pye is passionate about film, documenting his art and life since the 1960s. The first films were shot on Super 8. In 1974 he bought a 16mm camera to make “Reflections”, commissioned by the Arts Council. ‘Since then I have gone through many video cameras, ranging from the huge and clunky to the neat and small’, he says.
